Deportment

Left to right - Princess Letizia of Spain, French First Lady Carla Bruni and, yep, you guessed it, FLOTUS.

This wouldn’t bother me so badly if FLOTUS was more appropriately dressed and knew how to carry a balanced posture.  She doesn’t seem to know how to get her shoulders back over her hips and as a result walks hunched forward over her thighs.  Makes me wince every time I see it.   The outfit is suitable for a picnic in the park, not for lunch with the likes of Bruni and Letizia.

Some of FLOTUS’s fashion choices are really unfortunate.  The best thing I’ve seen her wear so far has been the vintage black with the lace overlay.  THAT looked good.  A lot of the other stuff just makes me shake my head at her fashion sense, or lack thereof.

Hearing her compared to Jacqueline Kennedy is so wrong on so many different levels.  Flotus isn’t even close. Jackie had a natural grace and elegance that was mirrored by Nancy Reagan and Laura Bush.

I really feel sorry for FLOTUS.  She’s been thrown into a job she neither wants nor likes and doesn’t have the background or training to carry it off.  That has GOT to suck.  Maybe we can take up a collection to pay for deportment lessons . . . <wince>
